CRISIS Donation Request

For the last 20+ years CRISIS has monitored the American Cyanamid (now Pfizer) Superfund Site.  It all started with the State’s legislative proposal to allow and build three waste incinerators (Sewage, Trash, and Toxic Waste) within one square mile of each other, and adjacent to the Raritan River.  That plan was successfully defeated, but the monitoring and clean-up of the Cyanamid Superfund site continues.   After years of delay, only recently has the EPA given the Hazardous Superfund site a priority along with the renewed attention it deserves.

Despite the years of study and some remediation work, the Cyanamid site remains a major environmental threat to the surrounding area.  CRISIS’s action has resulted in stronger environmental safeguards but a remedy for the most seriously polluted sections of the site still must be chosen.  CRISIS’s input will be essential to this process.

Additional funds are needed if CRISIS is to continue serving Bridgewater and Somerset County. Your contributions will be used to actively monitor and review the many technical proposals submitted by Pfizer, the DEP, and EPA.  CRISIS’s goal is to highlight unworkable or unacceptable solutions for further study, then to recommend acceptable alternate methods.

Your donation to CRISIS will be used for postage and general expenses as well as to maintain a website.  Most of the work to date was completed under a federal Technical Assistance Grant from the EPA, but it now needs to be renewed and the current workload requires professional oversight.

The new CRISIS website is still under construction (www.crisistoxicwatch.org), but can be viewed for general information, project status, and progress being made at the American Cyanamid Superfund Site in Bridgewater, NJ.

Any contribution would be greatly appreciated to help us continue our important work.  Unfortunately CRISIS cannot accept PayPal donations via the website at this time.  Until then, please use the information below for your donation.

Thank you,
